Su Dharmapala
Su Dharmapala is an author, start-up founder and AI technologist with a background in South Asian history. She was born in Singapore and grew up between Singapore and Sri Lanka before immigrating to Australia in 1989. After graduating from Monash University with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science, Su worked in technology for some of Australia's Fortune 500 companies, including Coles Myer, IBM, GE Money and SEEK. She took a two-year break from her professional career after her son was born, and it was during this time that her love for writing was re-ignited.
Her first novel, The Wedding Season (Simon & Schuster Australia, 2012), has been optioned for film and will start production in 2026. Simon & Schuster Australia also published her second novel, Saree (2013).
