Meet Anjanette
Anjanette Fennell is a literary agent who believes the best publishing partnerships are built on more than just a great manuscript — they're built on trust, clarity, and a shared vision for what a book can become.
With a background spanning psychology, copywriting, technical writing, and nearly two decades of professional experience across magazines, websites, and small business, Anjanette brings a rare breadth of perspective to her work. That journey — from writer to beta-reader, editor, and ultimately literary agent — means she understands the full arc of a story's life, from the vulnerable first draft to the moment it finds its reader.
She specialises in commercial and upmarket fiction, working closely with both debut and experienced authors to develop their manuscripts and secure the deals their writing deserves. Her authors don't just gain representation — they gain a collaborator who is as invested in the strength of the work as they are.
Anjanette believes the greatest obstacles between a writer and their best work are rarely craft problems — they're confidence problems. She works to understand not just a manuscript's market potential, but the writer behind it, championing both with equal conviction.
A California native who has also called the UK and Italy home, Anjanette now lives in Newcastle, Australia with her family and much-loved labradoodle, Sunny. When she's not reading submissions or championing her authors, you'll find her walking, hunting down creative ways to avoid the gym, and losing herself in music.
Stories have the power to move minds, shape souls, and shift the world.
